The start and finish of the K3 Ultra GBR 23K race are in Zlatograd. The course is completely different from 2024, but it resembles the 23 km route from 2021.
After the start, the runners enter the forest and begin moving along a scenic eco-trail, parts of which are located directly on the border line. After about 6 km, they reach the St. Kostadin aid station, where it is time for a short break and refreshments with authentic Rhodopean delicacies, specially prepared for them – patatnik, stuffed vine leaves, klin, and many more.
After the station, the route continues along a relatively easy section through beautiful forests and meadows until reaching the next aid station – Mostcheto (The Bridge). From there, an ascent follows towards Kosora Peak, which is mentioned in the famous song about Delyo Haydutin. From its summit, runners can often see the Aegean Sea to the south, while to the north, they will admire the magnificent ridges of the Rhodopes above Starzevo village.
After that, the runners descend to St. Ekaterina Chapel. From there, only two kilometers remain to the finish line in Zlatograd, a section shared by all distances.
Medical Check-ups Before Participation in
K3 ULTRA 2026
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, the pre-race medical check-up remains a mandatory requirement for K3 ULTRA in 2026.
There is no need to bring a pre-issued medical certificate. The check-up is conducted on-site by licensed medical professionals at no additional cost.
If the examination reveals a health condition that poses a contraindication for participation (e.g. acute illness, cardiovascular or respiratory issues), the participation fee will be refunded in full (100%).
T-SHIRT K3 ULTRA
The K3 ULTRA GBR T-shirt is made of high quality breathable fabric to be a loyal and faithful ally of the runners in the mountain. The design of the T-shirt successfully conveys and complements the overall experience of K3 ULTRA.

Starter pack
The starter pack for each contestant includes a t-shirt, starter number, gifts from the sponsors and partners of the competition as well as a special surprise prepared by the organisers.
Perfect event organisation
K3 ULTRA participants will have carefully placed markings, cleared and safe trails with minimal asphalt sections, electronic reporting of the results, information on hotel accommodation, tent and camper site. Professional photo footage.

Medical assistance
The safety of the participants in the ultramarathon is ensured by mountain insurance included in the entry fee and the availability of medical assistance during the entire event.
Food and drinks
The aid stations at the ultramarathon will be stocked with water, hot and refreshments. Special food is also provided – fruits, vegetables, Rhodope specialities, as well as supplements.
Unforgettable moments
Amazing views, emotional experience, fabulous Rhodopes and new friendships. All participants who cross the finishing line of K3 ULTRA will receive a medal - part of BG Ultra Slam, uniting the leading ultramarathons in Bulgaria.

Equipment
Mandatory equipment will be checked at the start or when the starter packs are given. Each participant must carry their own mandatory equipment and may be checked at any station OR at the finish line when the race has ended. Everything that is missing from the mandatory equipment, will result in immediate disqualification. There are no penalties for a missing recommended gear.
Declarations
Competitors must sign certain declarations to participate in the competition. The declarations can be downloaded below. Please familiarise yourself with the text of the document. The declaration of participation is signed electronically upon receiving the starter pack. The declaration of participation for persons under 18 is to be printed, signed by both parents and provided upon receiving a start number for the child.

Registration for K3 ULTRA
Anyone wishing to participate in the K3 ULTRA Ultramarathon must register and sign in by selecting a distance, entering additional data and paying the appropriate entry fee.
Refund policy:
During the late registration period (01.08 – 01.09.2026) – 50% of the fee is refundable.
After the end of online registration – the fee is non-refundable.
Transfer Policy:
Transferring participation to the following year is possible until the closing of online registration.
Transferring the registration to another participant can be done up until the online registration closes.
Changing the race distance is allowed until the online registration closes.
After 01/09/26 no registrations will be accepted. On-site registrations are not available.
* Water, medical care, aid stations, electronic reporting of results are provided for all participants at all distances.
* All participants in distances 13K, 23K, 43K, 63K and GEOPS 100K who have finished in the control time receive a medal – part of BG Ultra Slam.
Mandatory equipment
*Mandatory equipment will be checked before the start or when receiving the starter packs. Each participant must carry their mandatory equipment themselves and may be checked arbitrarily at an aid station or at the final, after the end of the race. The lack of any item from the mandatory equipment will lead to immediate disqualification.
